About the firm

The firm opened in 1986 as a public law practice and broadened its work as the country opened its economy to foreign investment and tourism development. Four decades on, we remain a small office by choice: the partner who studies a case is the one who argues it.

Our founder, Dr. Antoliano Peralta Romero, currently serves as Minister of Justice of the Dominican Republic. His career in public service and legal teaching shaped how the firm approaches administrative law.

We start by understanding the problem before proposing a strategy. In the first consultation we review the documents, identify the deadlines already running and set out the options with their costs and risks, including the option of not litigating. We would rather say early that a case is difficult than sustain an expectation we cannot meet.

Every matter has one responsible lawyer who knows the full file and answers to the client directly. We do not rotate teams or hand follow-up to staff without command of the case.

Our practice covers four connected areas: real estate and tourism project development, public administration law, estate and tax planning, and civil and economic criminal litigation. Most matters that reach us cut across more than one, which is exactly why we keep them under one roof.

We practise exclusively before Dominican courts and public administration. When a matter has a foreign element, we coordinate with counsel in that jurisdiction and take on the Dominican side of the file. Our office is at Calle Francisco Prats Ramírez No. 12, Ensanche Piantini, Santo Domingo.

We advise and draft in Spanish and English. Many of our clients are foreign investors with projects in the country, so we prepare contracts, legal opinions and correspondence in both languages without relying on outside translation.
